Nandi, Shiva's Vahana(Vehicle)

THE SEAL FOUND IN HARAPPA, another hint of existence of Shiva and Fertility worship in the Oldest Civilization of the World
Nandi means joyous. Nandi the Bull is the vahana (vehicle) of Shiva.
The bull, a symbol of male sexuality, is the driving force of attainment in many symbolic systems.
If, as we have seen, the cow stands for wealth, then the ox stands for work.

End of Kaliyuga (Dark Age)

After much hyped Doomsday theory might not have been proven to be truth, as humans always have a tendency to take literal meaning of things. Humanity has been dying a slow death since 100s of years even if Humans survived.

Though I do not believe in any religion, but the point that made this day special is that all religions agreed on the end of the world, as we have known it on 21.12.2012 at 11:11 PM (No mention of which timeline has been chosen as a base, so celebrations can continue whole day)

Nice to see the unity so I am going to enjoy it as long as it lasts.

With the End of Kaliyuga, we enter the 'Golden Era', an era in which everything is possible, (not by God's) by Human race will reach another
peak. What peaks they are talking of is a matter of thought, but atleast this time they are talking about something GOOD, which I never expected to happen in my lifetime.

Hope Humans find some sense in this era and start asking 'Why?' instead of blindly following something or the other.

Forgive me if I made any mistakes there as the excitement I am feeling has overpowered my 'Look Back' attitude for now.

Title of the 2nd part of the series 'The Horned God Chronicles'

Though Raghu has managed to shed IGNORANCE and has accomplished his mission to be the 'Skull Bearer', the evil forces are still around and the actual mission has just begun.

The invaders have won over a large part of the once-peaceful land of the Indus Valley. A few, like Raghu's Clan, 'the Solankhis' have taken the invading forces by surprise, by using a much advanced weaponary but the invaders had made it clear that it was not the end of the War. Though they took away the image of Pashupati with them on the last raid, which the Solankhis called the 'Linga', the clan has replaced it with another 'Linga' as they know well that it is the matter of faith that makes an image divine, rather than otherwise as most of the west seems to believe.

Raghu has no idea that while he has been acting as per the last with of the Clan Shaman, Arihant, who gave his life to protect Raghu's father, the enemy is planning an attack that is not just physical. While Raghu still has a long distance to cover before he reaches the clan grounds, will he reach safely and, more importantly, in time, as the attack this time is nothing like Raghu and his people have ever heard of or seen. With Purander using every oppurtunity to create a situation that will favour him, the dirty politics has much more and larger hidden behind its innocent looks masked with faces of Gods. Will the clan become a victim of the tricks or will Raghu unmask those who seem innocent but are more deadly and effective than any other weapon ever used?

My view on Three IIM-Indore students expelled for taking drugs

I read this today Three IIM-Indore students expelled for taking drugs
Thought I should shares my view on the situation.

They provided no info about what is the substance that the labled 'Drugs'. There are many that got banned in Narcotocs and Drugs Prevention act because of western pressure without finding if they were actually in purview of the Drug Act. Though there are various states in India who look at things differently. You can get Bhang/Marijuana legally in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and various districts of Himachal as well as it is a native Indian Weed and was added to the NDP Act without finding out if they needed to ban it.

Many states sell Liquor more than they sell any other drink while in states like Gujrat, liquor is banned and is considered a drug.

My personal view to this is that the expulsion is not going to solve the issue. It will rather increase their problems and that might even become a reason of the students becoming life-long addicts(though lives of addicts aren't too long). Expulsion is the worst form of punishment for these students.

The authorities are making a mistake here. This is not a wise act on part of the management.

Series of Novels attempting research on 'Origin of Casteism in India and Hinduism'

THE HORNED GOD Chronicles: Skull Bearer The Aryan invasion of Indian subcontinent has remained a point of discussion since discovery of Indus Valley civilization which shows that civilized life existed there in Pre-Vedic age.
The Indus Valley Civilization (IVC) was a Bronze Age civilization (3300-1300 BCE; mature period 2600-1900 BCE)

The sites of Harrappa, Mohenjodaro, Lothal and various others that are spread over the area of around 1,260,000 km², became an eyesore for Indian Castist as even the Vedas mention Indra as 'Purandara' (Destroyer of the forts). It meant that it was not the Aryans who came to the area and brought civilzation to the area.
Rather the tide turned against them as it showed that ARYANS were migrant tribesmen who had moved to a much civilized areas. These Aryans slowly increased in number, so by the end of 2500 B.C. many of them reached higher and more powerful positions and decided to take over the control altogether(Not much different from what Hitler claimed to be doing). To make sure that no native could rise up again, an Aryan saint Manu wrote 'Manu-Smriti' in which he decided to divide the society into 4 Varnas: Brahmin(The Learned), Kshatriyas(The Warriors), Vaishyas(The Traders) and Shudras(The slaves). Shudras had no rights, couldn't study and the harshest of the punishments were chosen to deal with them if they disobeyed as it was told to be the law of God himself
This was because 'Manu-Smriti' said: Brahmins are born from the mind of the omnipotent God, Kshatriyas from the torso, Vaishyas from the thighs and Shudra from the omnipotent's feet. This was seen as a Godly sanction of this system.
There were even more classes than this namely- 1. Criminal Tribes(Around 20 million) 2. Aborriginal Tribes(Around 15 million) 3. The Untouchables(Around 50 million).
These were not included in the varna system and even their touch(including that of Shudra) was considered to pollute.
The Hindu civilization, in light of these products, could hardly be called Civilization. As Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the only leader among the Broken people to speak out against the law and also famous for writing the Constitution of India(Chosen as he had broken the norms and was more learned and fit than any, and also in a hope to pacify lower castes) has written in his worrk 'The Untouchables', first published in 1948: "The proper name for Hindu Civilization will be Infamy. What else can be said of a civilization which has produced a mass of people who are taught to accept crime as an approved means of earning livelyhoood, another mass of people who are left to live in full bloom of their primitive barbarism in the midst of the civilization and a third mass who are treated as an entity beyond human intercourse and whose mere rouch is enough to cause pollution."
He continues, "In any other country the existence of these classes would have led to searching of the heart and to investigation of their origin. But neither of these has occurred as the Hindu does not regard the existence of these classes as a matter of apology or shame. They are rather taught to be proud of it."

The book
THE HORNED GOD Chronicles: Skull Bearer is the first book in the series which aims to look into the ways and reasons of this Infamy and to find a solution to it, if it has the bleakest chance of solving it.

Lost Childhoods

Living in India, I have found that the journey called life is more about responsibilities than about choice. A child's life is not just about having fun and enjoying his/her childhood. People have a deep rooted belief that they need to teach their children in a way that they have a bright future.

Its not a wrong thought in any way, as you might say. Obviously it is good to plan and nurture the child for a better future. Due to an extra large population of middle class, this is one aspect that every parent considers his/her most important thing in the life of their children. Every parent wants his/her child to grow leaps and bounds and they dream of the day the child will break the shackles of the middle class and will enter the higher class. This is where the issue begins.

Based on my personal experience with children while I got a chance to teach in a higher secondary school as a substitute Computers teacher in a school where most of the children belonged to middle class, I came across something that left such an impact on me that changed my view about this particular aspect, forever.
If you ask any child, of any standard that if they had a career path in their minds, almost everyone of them will answer in affirmative. It felt good to see that children from almost every class which I was teaching i.e. 3rd standard to 10th standard, almost everyone replied in the affirmative. At this stage I decided to go one step ahead and ask them what made them chose that particular career. Almost everyone wanted to be an Engineer or a Doctor, which is understandable as it is seen as the shortest path to move up to the higher class. But the reason that made them chose that left me baffled. You would be surprised to hear the answer(atleast if you are not Indian). I will put the answer in points for more clarity.

Ans 1: My dad wants me to do that.
Ans 2: My mom wants me to do that.
Ans 3: I haven't decided yet because my dad says I should be an engineer but my mom wants me to be a doctor.
Ans 4:  I haven't decided yet because my mom says I should be an engineer but my dad wants me to be a doctor.

Not a single child said that he/she had chosen it because they want to. This left me so stunned that I felt pity for these children as I saw their childhood lost in the dreams of their parents. The worst part is that nobody thinks it is wrong in any way. The consent or talent of the child is of no importance for parents. If this trend continues for long, we will definitely have many engineers and doctors but at the cost of childhood of the child. Childhood is a stage where the child interacts with the society and that interaction is a must for being a good human being.

Seeing so many children around but no childhood is something too much to bear for me. But alas, what can I do more than putting my thoughts in words and presenting them to you?
